PARTNER PROGRAMME

Partner referral terms

These terms govern the Marbles partner referral programme for accounting and bookkeeping practices. They sit alongside our standard terms of service. Last updated 15 August 2026.

1. The programme in one paragraph

Approved partner practices receive a referral fee of $49 per referred client per month, plus GST, for each month that client remains an active, paying Marbles customer. There is no cap on the number of referred clients and no minimum to stay in the programme.

2. Who can participate

The programme is open to Australian accounting and bookkeeping practices approved by Marbles through the partner application. We may decline or revoke approval where a practice does not meet the programme's intent - for example, entities that are not genuine practices serving business clients.

3. Referral attribution

A client is attributed to your practice when they sign up through your partner link or code, or when you notify us in writing (from your registered practice email) before they sign up and we confirm the attribution. Attribution is first in, best dressed: if two partners claim the same client, the earlier valid attribution stands. Attribution disputes are decided by Marbles acting reasonably, and our decision is final.

4. Existing prospects and existing customers

Referral fees apply to new Marbles customers only. A business that is already a Marbles customer, is in an active sales conversation with us, or has signed up in the last 12 months cannot be claimed as a referral. If in doubt, ask us before referring - we will tell you whether a business is claimable.

5. When the fee starts and stops

The referral fee accrues from the referred client's first paid month and stops accruing when they cease to be a paying customer (cancellation, termination or sustained non payment). No fee accrues for free periods, trials or months a client's account is suspended.

6. Churn and rejoining

If a referred client cancels and later rejoins within 6 months, the original attribution resumes with them. If they rejoin after more than 6 months, the rejoin is treated as a new signup and normal attribution rules apply.

7. Refunds and clawbacks

If we refund a referred client's fees for a given month, no referral fee is payable for that month; any fee already paid for it is offset against your next payment. We do not otherwise claw back fees for months a client genuinely paid.

8. GST and invoicing

The $49 fee is exclusive of GST. Where your practice is registered for GST, we operate on a recipient created tax invoice (RCTI) basis: we issue an RCTI with each monthly payment and you agree not to issue your own tax invoice for these fees. You must hold a valid ABN and tell us promptly if your GST registration status changes.

9. Payment schedule

Referral fees are calculated monthly and paid within 14 days of month end, by bank transfer to your nominated Australian account, with a statement listing each referred client and the amount. Amounts under $50 roll over to the following month.

10. Fraud and self referrals

Self referrals (referring your own practice or entities you control), fabricated businesses, incentive schemes that misrepresent Marbles, and any manipulation of attribution are prohibited. We may withhold fees connected to suspected fraud while we investigate, and remove partners engaged in it from the programme.

11. Disclosure to your clients

You must disclose to referred clients that your practice receives a referral fee from Marbles. Members of professional bodies (CPA Australia, CA ANZ, IPA) and practitioners registered with the Tax Practitioners Board are responsible for meeting their own disclosure and independence obligations, including under APES 110 where it applies.

12. Conflicts and client interests

Refer clients because Marbles is right for them, not because of the fee. Nothing in this programme requires you to recommend Marbles, and you must not represent that Marbles has engaged you to provide advice on its behalf.

13. Leaving the programme

Either side may end participation with 30 days written notice. Fees already accrued are paid out on the normal schedule. On termination for fraud or serious breach, unpaid fees connected to the breach are forfeited. When participation ends for any other reason, fees continue to accrue on existing referred clients for 12 months from the end date, then cease.

14. Changes to the programme

We may change these terms (including the fee) with 60 days written notice to registered partners. Changes are not retrospective: fees already accrued are unaffected, and the fee applying to a referred client will not be reduced for the first 12 months after that client's attribution.
